The Difficult Art to Keep Things Simple

Our comfort of work as product designers has increased significantly in the past couple of years. We have programs that allow us to prototype, do A/B tests, visualize our work and constantly test the effectiveness of the chosen feature or fix. Oh, and we are so clever. Sometimes even too clever.

WUD 3city 2014 #Engagement

2014 has been a significant year for 3city’s UX scene – beginning with UXcamp (May 17) followed by WUD Trójmiasto (November 8).

WUD 3city

Last Saturday over 200 UX enthusiasts attended WUD Trójmiasto in PPNT – Science and Technology Park in Gdynia. Speakers from various parts of Poland came to share their knowledge and experience about User Experience regarding the topic of the conference – “Engagement”. The event started with 3 workshops and was followed by 8 presentations.

There are so many advanced tools that help us create better products that designers often close themselves off and miss the part of picking their colleagues’ brains. This may become a problem, because at the end of the day, it is others not us that are going to use the product.

Are you Banksy or a Vandal of UI Design?

There are several DOs and DON’Ts in user interface (UI) design. Just like in graffiti, there are Street Artists and Vandals – you decide which one you want to be.

A few weeks ago I went on a Banksy walking tour through different districts of London. Much to my disappointment, I haven’t spotted many of his works as they were either destroyed or simply covered by construction works. Then I’ve noticed some other great street artists who really astonished me. And so my journey through the London street art began.
